Welcoming Committee Coffee

Welcoming Committee Coffee is a great opportunity to mingle with fellow newcomers and our friendly Welcoming Committee members. Come and learn tips from veteran parents or simply drop in to connect with other new families. The next gathering is set for Thursday, November 6 from 9:00 - 11:30 Matines Cafe in Wayne. It’s a casual drop-in, all are welcome to stop by anytime during that window to connect with veteran parents and other new parents. Got questions? Feel free to reach out to our Welcoming Committee chair, Karen Zamperini (karenzamperini@gmail.com).

Michelle Knudsen Author Visit

We are thrilled to announce that New York Times bestselling author Michelle Knudsen will visit the 5th and 6th Grade students on November 20th.

By purchasing a book, you are helping the PTO to cover the cost of this author visit! Our goal is to sell 25 books to cover the cost of the assembly. Books are not only signed, but personalized, so it makes for a great keepsake!

Michelle will speak about her newest book, a middle grade fantasy novel Into the Wild Magic, which was just released in August 2025. Into the Wild Magic is about adolescence—navigating friendship and trust, owning your gifts, and becoming the hero of your own story.

Into the Wild Magic order information link

All orders placed by November 12 will be signed by the author and personalized.

The TEMS School Store is Back for the 2025-2026 School Year!

The TEMS School Store is opening this month! The mobile cart will be in the cafeteria during 5th and 6th grade lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The store is cash only, with items ranging from $0.50 to $3.00. Available products include fun school supplies and other small trinkets. Inventory will change over time as the store finds its rhythm.

The store relies on parent volunteers to operate from 11:45am to 1:00pm. Volunteers are responsible for setting up the cart, selling items, handling cash and restoring the cart. Be on the lookout for a sign up genius later this month! It’s a great opportunity to volunteer at the school and help out the TEMS PTO! Volunteers must have TESD background clearances.

Parent Teacher Conferences

The Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences at T/E Middle School are scheduled for Tuesday, November 25 (1:15 – 3:10 p.m.) and Monday, December 1 (12:00 – 7:35 p.m.), with 15-minute time slots. Teachers will reach out to schedule a conference if they feel one is needed. However, if a teacher has not requested a conference and you have specific concerns, parents may schedule a meeting with one “Core” teacher per child.

The link to schedule conferences will be available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal in early November.

Please test your PowerSchool login before the scheduling window opens to confirm access. For assistance, contact familyhelpdesk@tesd.net if you encounter any login issues.
