SUBJECT: Welcome Back!

T/E Middle School

Aug 17, 2025

First Day of School is Monday, August 25!

Dear TEMS Parents/Guardians ,

We hope your summer has been fantastic and full of fun!

As the new school year approaches, we want to extend a warm welcome from the TEMS PTO! If you're new to the district, we're a dedicated group of volunteers committed to supporting our wonderful school community through exciting events, fundraising efforts, and special programs. You can learn more about what we do at temspto.org.

Great news—you're automatically added to our weekly email list when you enroll! Every Sunday afternoon, we'll send you updates on school happenings and PTO activities. Don't forget to check the bottom of each email for useful links to the PTO website, lunch menu, and more. To ensure our emails make it to your inbox, please add temspto@gmail.com and temsptoblast@gmail.com to your contacts.

We're kicking off the school year with a back-to-school supply and spirit wear sale on August 18th. All grade levels are invited! Plus, don’t miss our annual "Bulldog Family Fest" which is a school-wide event on September 12 —mark your calendars and keep an eye out for more details!

School officially begins on Monday, August 25. To help you start the year on the right foot (and maybe with a little less chaos), we've included a few reminders below.

Warmly

TEMS PTO

Schedules & Locker Assignments

Grade 5 students can pick up Laptops, Class Schedules & Locker Assignments on August 18 from 10am-2pm.

Schedules for Grades 6, 7, and 8 will be available on PowerSchool this week.  Please look for communication from the school. Lockers for students in these grades will be distributed in their Homeroom on the first day of school.

New to the School District

Welcome to the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District! The New Family Orientation will be held on August 20. You'll receive additional details directly from the school. Please note this is for families brand new to TESD.

The TEMS PTO Welcoming Committee is here to assist new families at Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School. We’re happy to answer any questions and help with your transition. If you’re new to the district, you should have received a packet from us, either by mail or email from the TEMS main office. This packet contains valuable resources for adjusting to the school and community. You can review it quickly [here]

We host monthly PTO Welcome Committee Coffees — a great opportunity to mingle with fellow newcomers and our friendly Welcoming Committee members. Come and learn tips from veteran parents or simply drop in to connect with other new families. The next gathering is set for Friday, August 29 from 9:30 - 11:30 at the Gateway Panera. It’s a casual drop-in, all are welcome to stop by anytime during that window to connect with veteran parents and other new parents. Got questions? Feel free to reach out to our Welcoming Committee chair, Karen Zamperini (karenzamperini@gmail.com).

Prefer to connect with other parents through social media? We've got you covered! Join our district-level and grade-level parent Facebook groups to get plugged into the school community online. Check out the links below:

As you begin the school year, note that our district uses two programs: PowerSchool Portal and Schoology

PowerSchool Portal provides access to student forms, bus information, and course schedules. You should have received email from the school district with your login details.

Schoology is used for school news, grades, and coursework updates. Parents can set up daily or weekly gradebook summary emails, which provide a quick overview of your child's grades delivered right to your inbox. It's best to set up your Parent Email Digest from a laptop or desktop computer.  Click on this LINK for more information on Schoology.

For any tech support or login issues, contact familyhelpdesk@tesd.net.

 IMPORTANT 2025-2026 HEALTH INFORMATION

EMERGENCY MEDICAL INFORMATION CARD

***Please complete the Emergency medical card in Power School ASAP!***

STATE-MANDATED HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

  • All 7th graders must have Tdap & MCV vaccines PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF SEVENTH GRADE. Please ensure that you have submitted a recent vaccine record to Power School or Leigh Ann Coary CSN at coaryl@tesd.net to avoid risk of exclusion.
  • Additionally, all 7th graders must have a dental exam on file within the last rolling year. Please contact Mrs. Coary if you have any barriers to getting a dental exam.
  • All 6th graders must have a physical exam with updated immunization record within the last rolling year on file. Please contact Mrs. Coary if you have any barriers to obtaining a physical exam.

HEALTH SCREENINGS

  • All grades have vision testing, height & weight screened in September
  • 7th graders and new students also have hearing testing done
  • Health screenings will be on September 3 & 4
  •  Scoliosis screening in grades 6 and 7 in the spring for those who have not had a physical exam or PIAA physical in this school year
  • Please remind your children to wear any needed contact lenses or bring their eyeglasses on the day of the testing.

Please make sure your student has breakfast every AM or a snack they can throw in their backpack like a granola bar or muffin. These kids are growing like crazy during their Middle School years. The biggest complaints we see in the health office are headaches, stomachache or hunger and all 3 of these things usually resolve after water & a snack. They cannot learn if distracted by any of these complaints.

Please visit our updated Student Health Services page on the district website for forms or other information about when you should keep your kids home form school. Mrs. Lara Napoli & I are easily reachable by phone or email and love working in collaboration with you to keep your students healthy and in school.

Welcome Back!

We need parent volunteers to help run the event (i.e. check height, weight, record results, etc.). Full directions will be provided at the event.

Each day we will have 2 shifts of volunteers. (First shift 8:20-10:00am, Second shift 10:00-11:30am). First shift needs to report to the TEMS library by 8:20am as the screenings start at 8:30am.
