We’ve officially made it to the last week of school! Please note that Friday, June 13th will be a half day, with dismissal at 12:17 PM.

The TEMS PTO would like to wish all our families a relaxing and joyful summer break. A special congratulations to our 8th-grade parents—what an exciting milestone as your student graduates from TEMS! We’re so proud of them and all they’ve accomplished. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of this community.

Looking ahead, the 2025–2026 school year will begin with the first full day of school on August 25, 2025.

8th Grade Recognition Ceremony

Dear 8th Grade Parents and Guardians,

We are looking forward to celebrating the end of your student’s middle school experience here at TEMS!

You are invited to attend our 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, June 12th at 9:00 am.

Our 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony will take place outdoors at Conestoga’s Sports Stadium, Teamer Field.  Parking will be available on the TEMS athletic fields beginning at 8:00 AM.  Immediately after the ceremony, students may be dismissed home with a parent or guardian.

In the event of rain or inclement weather on 12th, the ceremony will be postponed to Friday, June 13th at 9:00 AM, and will be held indoors in TEMS Auditorium. If the ceremony needs to be indoors on June 13th, it will be limited to 8th grade parents and guardians only due to space limitations.

Volunteer & Support 8th Grade Ceremony

Please help us provide a great celebratory send-off for our 8th graders at the 2025 recognition ceremony. We are requesting donations of cases of water which can be dropped off to the TEMS Front Office the week of 6/9 (no later than EOD 6/11).

We also need several volunteers to help distribute waters, soft pretzels, and goodie bags at the recognition event so the 8th grade parents can enjoy the ceremony (great sneak peek for 7th grade parents).

For volunteers, please note that the recognition ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 12th at 9:00 am at Conestoga's Teamer Field. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to 9:00 am on June 13th in the TEMS Auditorium (we have separate sign ups for these two dates).

Please sign up using the link below if you can help with water donations or working a shift at the ceremony!

End of Year Luncheon for Teachers & Staff

The TEMS PTO will be providing the awesome TEMS Teachers & Staff a delicious lunch catered by Tredici for their celebratory end of the school year luncheon on Tuesday, June 17th.

To help make this celebration extra special, we’d love your support in providing a few additional items.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Non-perishable items (like chips and drinks) can be dropped off at school by Friday, June 13th.

  • Perishable items (such as cookies, cupcakes, and fruit) should be brought to the school by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17th.

  • If it's more convenient, you can also coordinate a home drop-off with our event chair, April Turoczi, by emailing her at april.l.garrett@gmail.com.

Let's show the TEMS Teachers & Staff how much we appreciate them with a fabulous lunch! Signup for requested items using the link below.

Health Forms

We want to remind you to consider the following when scheduling your child’s well visit or dental checkup:

-For incoming grade 6: Physical exams within one year are required per PA School Health Code.

-For incoming grade 7: students MUST submit documentation of MCV or Tdap PRIOR to the first day of school or risk exclusion. This is per state requirements.

-Additionally, students in 7th grade must have a dental exam within one year.

Please check the Note from School Nurse in this blast with further details.

- PIAA forms are required if your rising 7/8 grade student wishes to participate in school sports. Please see note below on interscholastic sports and visit the TEMS Athletics page for additional instructions:

Interscholastic Sports

All current 6th and 7th grade students and families are invited to learn more about playing interscholastic sports at TEMS. Below is a link to a 4-minute video to share more about the opportunities at TEMS:

For any 6th and 7th grade student who has not yet had an ImPACT baseline test in middle school, they are being offered after school in the cafeteria on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, June 3, 4 and 5. Students do not need to sign up in advance for this but they should try to make one of these afternoon sessions. Students should bring their laptop and charger to the cafeteria that afternoon. Please contact Mrs. Sarvas in the main office at 610-240-1204 or sarvasm@tesd.net if you have additional questions.

Note from the Nurse's Office

If you sent any medication in for your student this year, medication pickup will be June 9th through June 12th. Any medications remaining after June 13th will be disposed of as per school district policy. Please set an alarm or reminder in your phone to come get your student’s meds.

Friendly Reminders

Parents of 7th graders in the fall of 2025:

PA school health law requires that all students MUST have the following vaccinations PRIOR to the first day of 7th grade or risk exclusion:

  • 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap)
  • 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)

If your student has NOT had these vaccinations but is not due for a well visit, please call your health care providers office ASAP & request a nurse visit specifically for immunizations. These appointments are typically quicker to schedule & are often at no added cost to you. Other options to obtain these vaccinations include the Chester County Health Department Immunization Clinic, many area Urgent Care locations, or clinics within pharmacies. Please call ahead to make sure the needed vaccine serum is available prior to going.

Additionally, a dental examination is also state required for 7th grade. Dental examinations must be done within one year. Forms to be completed by your family dentist can be found on the TESD website under Student Health Services then loaded into the Power School parent portal under forms.

Parents of 6th graders in the fall of 2025:

PA school health law states that children entering 6th grade must have a physical examination completed within one year & on file in the nurse’s office. Please make appointments ASAP. If your student is age 11 or older, please request that MCV & Tdap vaccinations be given at that appointment. Forms to be completed by your health care practitioner can be found on the TESD website under Student Health Services.

All health information for students should be loaded to Power School via the parent portal. Look for the heading “Forms” on the left-hand side.  If you are unable to load your report into Power School, it can be sent via email to coaryl@tesd.net.

Thank you for your help in getting all required health information to the nurse in a timely fashion.
