PTO Meeting Update

Thank you to everyone who attended our final PTO meeting of the 2024–2025 school year! The Nominating Committee has approved the following PTO officers for 2025–2026:

  • President: Deepti Singh
  • Executive VP: Susan Chronister
  • Treasurer: Kristi Phipps
  • Assistant Treasurer: Ted Kim
  • VP of Communications: Laura Reilly
  • VP of Cultural Arts: Janet Malin (Co-VP) and Sarabeth Krulock (Co-VP)
  • VP of School Services: Akhila Gautam
  • VP of Fundraising: Kate Wang
  • Secretary: The PTO Secretary board position is still open, and we’re looking for volunteers! Key duties include taking meeting minutes and helping prepare agendas. If you can spare a few hours once a month to attend meetings and take notes, this is a great way to get involved.

Outside the board positions, we have many one-time volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Getting involved is a great way to make a meaningful impact and connect with other TEMS families. Some other subcommittee/event chair positions that we would love your help on are:

  • Back-to-School Sale Chair – Coordinate the sale of school supplies before the year begins
  • Spirit Wear Coordinator – Organize a few spirit wear sales throughout the year. First sale with Back to School Sale.
  • MLK Day Service Chair – Curate and create a list of service opportunities for middle school students and families around Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

If you're interested or want to learn more, please reach out to us at temspto@gmail.com. We’d love to have you join us!

May 2025

Dear Parents/Guardians of Current 5, 6 and 7th Grade Students,

We have already begun planning for the 2025-2026 school year here at T/E Middle School! As you know, the middle school schedule and course selection process have changed. I am pleased to invite you to TEMS for an Evening Program on Monday, May 19 at 7:00 pm.  This program will take place at TEMS in our Auditorium. The presentation will provide an overview of the middle school schedule changes and different course opportunities for students to select from.

Monday, May 19

Evening Program at T/E Middle School              7:00 pm

For parents unable to attend, information from this presentation will be published on Schoology the following day. Counselors are also available through phone and email to answer any questions. Please feel free to contact us at 610-240-1200 if you need assistance or have any questions.

Attention 8th Grade Parents!

Parents of 8th grade students, please review this section for key dates and upcoming events.

Photo Memory Wall

The Grade 8 Photo Memory Wall is starting to take shape, but we’re still missing quite a few student photos. If you haven’t sent in your child’s picture yet, please try to do so as soon as possible. The deadline is this Friday, but the graduation committee would really appreciate receiving them a little earlier if possible. Thanks so much for your help!

The goal is to collect two pictures from all current 8th graders.  If you choose to participate, here is what is needed:

  • Please send in 1 baby picture and 1 current picture of your student by Friday, May 23, 2025.
  • Please submit a hard copy of each photo - 4” x 4” in size (please cut your photo to this dimension).

(Note: Pictures may need to be cropped to fit the display.)

Please write your students full name on the back of each picture.

All pictures are to be submitted to the school office in an envelope marked Attn: 8th Grade Memory Wall.

*If you would like your picture back at the end of the school year, please remove it from the bulletin board in the cafeteria on the last day of school, or you may come in the week of June 16, 2025

8th Grade Parent Move Up Meeting

Morning Drop-Offs – Student Safety Appeal

We need your support to help keep all students safe during morning drop-off.

Recently, there have been several close calls with children being dropped off in the middle of Howellville and Cassatt Roads and then running across traffic. This is extremely dangerous—especially with limited visibility around moving vehicles and school buses.

Please use the designated drop-off area in the school parking lot, where staff and crossing guards can assist with a safe arrival.

Here is a message from Dr DiLella shared earlier this week reiterating safety concern:

Morning Drop Off Reminde

Parent & Guardians - Good morning! I wanted to quickly address two situations that have been occurring recently. In the Morning, several students are being dropped off in the middle of both Howellville and Cassatt Roads. I understand that traffic in the morning can be frustrating - these drop offs have resulted in students running across moving traffic which creates a significant safety concern. Please take your time and enter our parking lot where a student can be dropped off safely in front of the building. I would much rather a student be a few minutes late then risk an accident.

The Main Line Berwyn Apartments has contacted us due to several students riding electric and mechanical bikes through their parking lot. They wanted to remind us that the parking lot is private property, and students should not use their lot to access the adjoining neighborhoods.

Our transportation department has done a wonderful job with busing this year. I always encourage (if possible) to have your child utilize bus transportation. It is the safest and most efficient way to transport a student to school.

 Thank you for your understanding

Green Corner

TEMS offers year-round recycling drop-off in the front lobby—just look for the collection bins! Check out the flyer below from the TEMS Green Team for more details. And don’t forget to drop off those old sneakers for recycling too!

Community News

From May 1 to May 21, T&E Care is running its annual School Supply Drive, and we need your support to make it a success! Instead of collecting physical supplies, we're once again asking families, businesses, and community organizations to contribute financial donations.

Your donation — no matter the amount — will go directly toward purchasing exactly what our local students need to prepare for the year ahead. This approach allows us to buy in bulk, reduce waste, and ensure every student receives consistent, high-quality supplies.

Please visit https://www.tecare.org/events/school-supply-drive/ for more information.
