Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who joined us for the April PTO Meet & Greet at TEMS. Your presence made it a warm and meaningful event as we shared more about the PTO and ways to get involved. We look forward to working with you.

If you weren’t able to attend but would like to learn more or find ways to participate, please reach out to us at temspto@gmail.com. There are many ways to contribute—even if you can’t attend meetings in person.

PSSA Testing Continues

Please pay attention to the following letter from TEMS!

Thank you for your support from home in ensuring that our students have a wonderful start to PSSA testing!

As a reminder, testing will continue this week for all grades, with the Mathematics assessment starting on Tuesday, April 29th through Wednesday, April 30th. The PSSA Science will begin for grades 5 and 8 starting on Thursday, May 1st, and conclude on Friday, May 2nd.

If your child is testing online (5th grade both Math/Science and 8th grade Science only), we are asking for your support from home ensuring that your child brings the following to school on Monday, April 28th (for 5th grade) or on Wednesday, April 30th (for 8th grade):

·       Their laptop with full charge, labeled with their name on it.

·       Their laptop charger labeled with their name on it.

Students will leave their laptops in their homeroom class, plugged in with their own chargers overnight the days before testing. In addition, reminders that were shared during the letter to parents earlier this month are just as important, including:

·       Adequate sleep.

·       Eating a healthy breakfast.

·       Reminders to take their time during testing.

Thank you for your support at home for the PSSA assessment.

T/E Middle School

Attention 8th Grade Parents!

As we approach the 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony, we need your help to create a ‘Photo Memory Wall’ for the kids in the school cafeteria.

The goal is to collect two pictures from all current 8th graders.  If you choose to participate, here is what is needed:

  • Please send in 1 baby picture and 1 current picture of your student by Friday, May 23, 2025.
  • Please submit a hard copy of each photo - 4” x 4” in size (please cut your photo to this dimension).

(Note: Pictures may need to be cropped to fit the display.)

Please write your students full name on the back of each picture.

All pictures are to be submitted to the school office in an envelope marked Attn: 8th Grade Memory Wall.

*If you would like your picture back at the end of the school year, please remove it from the bulletin board in the cafeteria on the last day of school, or you may come in the week of June 16, 2025

PTO Nominating Committee

Per the TEMS PTO By-Laws, the TEMS PTO is forming a Nominating Committee to build the slate of 2025-2026 Executive Officers.  The vote for Officers will be held at the PTO meeting on May 15.  The Nominating Committee includes members of the current Executive Committee and one PTO member.  If you are interested in joining the Nominating Committee, please contact Executive Vice President Ashley Force at temspto@gmail.com by April 30.

The Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for open 2025-2026 Executive Officer positions.  There are several Executive Officer positions that complete their term at the end of the 2024-2025 year.  These include:

• Executive Vice President (1 year term, which then leads into President the 2nd year)

• Secretary (2 year term)

• Treasurer (2 year term)

• VP Communications (2 year term)

• VP School Services (2 year term)

If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else for one of these Officer positions or if you have questions as to what these roles entail, please contact Executive Vice President Ashley Force at temspto@gmail.com by April 30.

This is a quick turnaround, but all nominations must be received by this date so that the slate can be considered before and approved at the May meeting.

Volunteering at the TEMS School Store Cart is So Much Fun!

Ever wonder what you kids are doing during school lunch?  Who they are sitting with?  When they get to eat in the outdoor courtyard?  Volunteer to sell the hottest trinkets and school supplies at TEMS, and you can get all the lunchroom tea!

The TEMS School Store Cart operates in the Cafeteria during 5th and 6th grade lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays!  The store is cash only, with items ranging from $0.50 to $3.00. Available products include fun school supplies (pencils, erasers, earbuds, pencil lead, sharpeners, etc.) and small trinkets (fidgets, locker magnets, scented putty, etc.).  New items are introduced every month!

Parent Volunteers Needed!
The store relies on parent volunteers to operate from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers are responsible for setting up the cart, selling items, handling cash, and storing the cart back into the PTO Closet. The store can only open when one or two parents sign up. Don’t miss this chance to see your kids in action during lunch while making a difference for the TEMS PTO—sign up today!

Thank you for supporting the TEMS School Store!

Coin Collection Challenge in support of Autism Acceptance Month

April is Autism Acceptance Month and all TESD schools will be collaborating to show their support for autism acceptance by running an in-school coin collection challenge (notes and coins of all denominations will be accepted). All proceeds will be donated to the Eagles Autism Foundation. Collection boxes will be placed in the lunchroom and main office so please send in your spare change throughout April. You can also donate by scanning the QR code below. It will direct you to a generic Eagles Autism Foundation (EAF) page. However, once you donate, it notes that the donation was on behalf of TESD.
