PTO Meeting Update

Due to spring break, the April PTO meeting has been rescheduled for April 24th at 9:30 AM at TEMS. We warmly invite all parents and caregivers—whether you have a current student or an incoming 5th grader—to join us and learn more about our organization. We anticipate some open PTO positions next year and will be sharing those details soon. This meeting is a great opportunity for future TEMS families to get a preview of what we do while also helping with our current PTO plan for the year ahead. We’d love to have you with us—hope to see you there!

Off-Campus Pickup & Traffic Concerns

The district shared this important update regarding construction areas near Conestoga High School due to safety concerns for middle school student pick-ups:

  1. Intersection of Cassat and Old State Road: This area near the construction site is NOT a designated crosswalk or parent pick-up location. It poses a major safety risk, as a student was almost hit there recently. Despite maintenance speaking to TE police, they have refused to have a presence there.
  2. Cassat/Howellville/Conestoga Intersection: The intersection in front of the building has become congested with parents parking along the sides of the road to avoid the pick-up line. Please remember these are no parking zones.
  3. Construction Area: Cars and pedestrians should not be in the construction area under any circumstances.

Please prioritize student safety and follow designated pickup guidelines.

Coin Collection Challenge in support of Autism Acceptance Month

April is Autism Acceptance Month and all TESD schools will be collaborating to show their support for autism acceptance by running an in-school coin collection challenge (notes and coins of all denominations will be accepted). All proceeds will be donated to the Eagles Autism Foundation. Collection boxes will be placed in the lunchroom and main office so please send in your spare change throughout April. You can also donate by scanning the QR code below. It will direct you to a generic Eagles Autism Foundation (EAF) page. However, once you donate, it notes that the donation was on behalf of TESD.

PSSA Testing

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) includes standardized tests for public school students in Pennsylvania. This year's testing schedule for TEMS is as follows:

  • April 22–24, 8:45 am - 11:15 am: English/Language Arts (Grades 5–8)
  • April 29–April 30, 8:45 am - 11:15 am: Mathematics (Grades 5–8)
  • May 1–May 2, 9:20 am - 11:00 am: Science (Grades 5 & 8)

Please refer to the official email sent to parents on March 27th for full details and FAQ's.
