April 14th Newsletter

Cycle Day 4
Monday Apr. 15th, 2024

All parents and caregivers with students in any grade who are interested in learning more about our organization are invited to attend our meet and greet meeting on Thursday, April 18th, at 9:30 am. Visitors can check in at the school’s front office, and the office staff will help direct you to our meeting location

That morning, we will hold a brief meeting to give a window into our organization's operation, and then allow time for mixing and chatting over coffee. We do expect vacancies in some PTO positions next year and we would love to gauge interest and begin to welcome you into the TEMS community. This will be a great preview for future TEMS parents/caregivers and will help the current PTO plan for the coming school year. We look forward to seeing many of you on April 18th!

2024-2025 Intent to Return

Last week, Dr. DiLella requested that parents complete the information on PowerSchool for the upcoming academic year. If you haven't done so already, please visit PowerSchool to verify the following:

  1. TESD Forms: Confirm whether your child will be attending TEMS next year.
  2. Class Registration: Confirm their course levels for next year.

Both pieces of information are crucial for constructing the master schedule for the 2024-25 School Year. Detailed instructions, a video tutorial, and links for access are posted on Schoology.

Health Forms

As we enter the final marking period of this school year, it's almost time to start planning for the 2024-2025 school year. We want to remind you to consider the following when scheduling your child’s well visit or dental checkup:

-For incoming grade 6: Physical exams within one year are required per PA School Health Code.

-For incoming grade 7: students MUST submit documentation of MCV or Tdap PRIOR to the first day of school or risk exclusion. This is per state requirements.

-Additionally, students in 7th grade must have a dental exam within one year.

Please click on this link for a letter from the School Nurse with further details.

- PIAA forms are required if your 7/8 grade student wishes to participate in school sports. Please visit the TEMS Athletics page for additional instructions:

Raise some Dough!

Mod is generously donating 25% of all profits to TEMS PTO on that day from the purchase of any customer who presents the attached flyer, mentions the fundraiser at the counter when paying, OR orders online using promo code "MODGIVES25".

See you at Mod on April 25th!  Mod's address is 289 E. Swedesford Rd, Wayne PA (Gateway Shopping Center).

Student council events

Aloha, Friday! On April 26th.  It will be a welcome to spring and warmer weather theme! Kids can wear Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, flip-flops, leis, etc.  There will be a raffle for Rita’s gift cards for those who participate.

On Friday, May 3rd there will be a 5th and 6th grade Social Event.  It will run from 3:15-5:00 and will be held in the Large gyms and fields on the side of the school. Please lookout for flyer with more details in upcoming blasts.

Green Initiative

In the spirit of Earth Day, let’s consider our children’s long-term welfare by living our lives a bit more “green”- that is, reducing our waste and carbon footprint – so that the earth is a great place to be for our kids and grandkids.    This doesn't have to be a daunting task that means sweeping life-changes... click on this LINK for 15 Easy Ways to Be Green in 2024

Recycling drop-off are available at TEMS all year!  Bins are located in the main lobby upon entry to the school. We will continue to collect writing instruments (no wooden pencils or crayons please), clean plastic bags, printer cartridges and dental products (toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, empty floss rolls) in the bins in the front lobby.  Click on this link for more details.

Brought to you by the TESD Green Team. To learn more or get involved, please contact: Tracy at tracyteeselink@aol.com, Val at valcheng@gmail.com or Gaby at gabysnyder@yahoo.com

Sneakers Recycling

Along with the recycling bins that the PTO provides, we also have a Conestoga HS group that collects used sneakers. Bins for new, used and gently used sneakers are available in the TEMS lobby.

School store needs YOU!

We're looking for parents to staff the School Store! The School Store is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (during all the lunch periods) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be two volunteers signed up for each day. The School Store is a great way to see your student(s) in action and support the school.

Background clearance is needed for volunteering for the school store. Here is a link on details regarding clearance (Volunteer Background Clearance).

If you have background clearance, please sign up using the link below.
