Welcome back, TEMS students and Families!

We are excited to begin another great school year and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, August 31. Homeroom begins promptly at 8:27 a.m., so plan to arrive on time and ready for a successful first day.

Before coming to school, be sure to check PowerSchool for any schedule or room changes that may have occurred over the past week. Transportation information is also available in your PowerSchool portal.

As we welcome everyone back, please be patient during arrival. For the safety of all students, obey all traffic laws and drop students off only in the designated areas at the front or rear of the building.

Welcome Back from the PTO!

Dear TEMS Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the TEMS PTO, Welcome Back Bulldogs!

The TEMS PTO is excited to support our students, teachers and school community this school year. Thanks to your support, we were able to kick off the year with a Welcome Back Breakfast for all the staff at T/E Middle School (pictures below).

Our first PTO meeting of the year will be on Thursday, September 17th, at 9:30am at TEMS. All are welcome! Come find out what's happening at TEMS this year.

A Note from the Nurse

 IMPORTANT 2026-2027 HEALTH INFORMATION

 EMERGENCY MEDICAL INFORMATION CARD

***please complete the Emergency medical card in Power School ASAP***

STATE-MANDATED HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

  • All 7th graders must have Tdap & MCV vaccines PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF SEVENTH GRADE. Please ensure that you have submitted a recent vaccine record to Power School or Leigh Ann Coary CSN at coaryl@tesd.net to avoid risk of exclusion.
  • Additionally, all 7th graders must have a dental exam on file within the last rolling year. Please contact Mrs. Coary if you have any barriers to getting a dental exam.
  • All 6th graders must have a physical exam with updated immunization record within the last rolling year on file. Please contact Mrs. Coary if you have any barriers to obtaining a physical exam.

 HEALTH SCREENINGS

  • All grades have vision testing, height & weight screened in September
  • 7th graders and new students also have hearing testing done
  • Health screenings will be on September 9 & 10
  • Scoliosis screening in grades 6 and 7 in the spring for those who have not had a physical exam or PIAA physical in this school year
  • Please remind your children to wear any needed contact lenses or bring their eyeglasses on the day of the testing.

Please make sure your student has breakfast every AM or a snack they can throw in their backpack like a granola bar or muffin. These kids are growing like crazy during their Middle School years. The biggest complaints we see in the health office are headaches, stomachache or hunger and all 3 of these things usually resolve after water & a snack. They cannot learn if distracted by any of these complaints.

Donations of pretzels & animal crackers are always appreciated, preferably in hard plastic containers or individually packaged. You’d be surprised how many stomach aches and headaches can be cured with a snack

Please visit our update Student Health Services page on the district website for forms or other information about when you should keep your kids home from school. Ms. Gay-Lesko & I are easily reachable by phone or email & love working in collaboration with you to keep your students healthy & in school.

Welcome back. I missed your kids.

Leigh Ann Coary CSN
