SUBJECT: December Happenings!

T/E Middle School

Dec 1st Newsletter

Cycle Day 4
Tuesday Dec 3rd, 2024

December is here, and the festive season is in full swing! No matter which holidays fill your calendar, we hope this time of year brings joy, warmth, and special moments to you and your family.

As a reminder, Monday, December 2nd, is Teacher Conference Day, and there will be no school for students. If you’re coming to the school for your conference, don’t forget to bring along any books you can spare for our upcoming Book Swap event.

We would also like to remind you that the school winter break is scheduled from December 23rd until January 1st. Keep a lookout for news on spirit days planned for the week before winter break. In addition, please be aware that there will be no PTO meeting held this month. For your convenience, past PTO meeting minutes and Sunday PTO newsletters are accessible at any time on the TEMS PTO website.

Note from Nurse's Office
  1. If you have not yet completed your student’s emergency information into the form on Power School, please do so immediately.
  2. Physical exams for 6th graders & dental exam for 7th graders are due. Please submit to Power School or to coaryl@tesd.net ASAP.
  3. We are collecting old eyeglasses and sunglasses for the Paoli-Berwin-Malvern Lions’ Club. They repurpose the frames for people who need eyeglasses but cannot afford them. It doesn’t matter if lenses are scratched. We collect them all year long in the nurse’s office so feel free to drop them off at any time.
  4. We greatly appreciate any donations of pretzels or animal crackers (especially those that are made at nut-free facilities)preferably  in PLASTIC barrels to the nurse’s office. We find that the number one reasons students get headaches is from either not eating breakfast &/or lunch or while going through a growth spurt. When doing your shopping, please consider picking one up & sending it in to us.
Winter Concerts

7/8 Concert: December 10th

5/6 Concert: December 12th

Parents of participating students should have received an email from the ensemble director with details on attire, arrival times, and other important information. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s ensemble director directly.

Please be advised of the district’s parking guidelines detailed below for your reference.

The T/E School District, in cooperation with local police and fire companies, has established fire lanes at each of the district’s buildings. The fire lanes are now clearly marked with “No Parking” signs to allow for unobstructed access for emergency vehicles seven days a week, even when school is not in session. Cars that are parked, stopped or standing in a designated fire lane may be ticketed by the police and/or towed by a private towing company, at the owner’s expense.

Parking will be available in the TEMS parking lots, along Howelville Road, and at the Network Operations Center building across the street from TEMS. Parking at Conestoga and in the field area (weather permitting) via Old Lancaster Road will also be available. Parking on Old Lancaster Road requires a permit from the township.

We encourage families to consider carpooling!

Canned Food Drive!

This upcoming week marks the start of the Student Council's Annual Canned Food Drive. Gather your extra canned and dried foods, and let’s make a difference together! Check the flyer for all the details.

Stock the Pantry

We would like to thank all the TEMS families who helped make Stock the Pantry a success. Thanks to your generosity, we provided a variety of snacks and beverages to keep our teachers energized during their busy conference days!
