Monday Oct 7th, 2024

Please join us at this month’s PTO meeting on October 17 at 9:30 am in Large group room as information about the proposed changes to the middle school schedule starting in the 2025-2026 school year will be discussed. Due to the implementation of new state standards in Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (STEELS), the middle school schedule needs to be revised. This is your opportunity to learn more and share your thoughts and input as the schedule is being developed.

From Nurse's Office

-Please ensure that your students are eating breakfast or grabbing a granola bar prior to coming to school.  Breakfast is available each day at no cost in the cafeteria for students. The nurse’s office is now accepting donations of barrels of pretzels or nut free animal crackers.

-If your student reaches out to you during school hours via email or text, please instruct them to visit the nurse's office. Nurses will contact you if your student truly needs to go home. Feel free to call the nurse’s office to inquire about your students if you are worried about them. We are happy to call them down to check on them.

-Please note that all concussions or injuries with notes from doctor require a FINAL clearance notice per PA State Law.

-For grade 6: Physical exams within one year are required per PA School Health Code. Please submit in Power School under forms- Physical Exam if possible or email to coaryl@tesd.net.

-For grade 7: students MUST submit documentation of MCV or Tdap PRIOR to the first day of school or risk exclusion. This is per state requirements. This can be done under forms- Proof of Immunization on Power School or emailed to coaryl@tesd.net.

-Additionally, students in 7th grade must have a dental exam within one year. Please download this information to Power School under Dental Exam or email to lallym@tesd.net.

CARE (Child Assistance Resources & Education)

If your child is having any trouble either in school or at home, our CARE (Child Assistance Resources & Education) team is here to help. The CARE team consists of a principal, counselors, nurse, school psychologist, mental health specialist, classroom teachers and community agency staff.  The team works to identify issues which pose a barrier to a students’ learning and school success.  If you or someone else notices your student is struggling in an academic, behavior, or social-emotional area of development, you can ask the CARE team to help.

Teachers, parents and students who observe concerning behavior in a student are encouraged to reach out to a CARE team member and submit a referral. Referrals can also be made using this link.  All referrals are confidential and once one has been made, the team will work together to gather information, consult with the parent and student and make recommendations for additional support.
